The director general of the ‘Atiku Shall Lead Nigeria 2019’, Patrick Agida, has said the group would amass 90 percent of Cross River votes to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Agida disclosed this on Sunday, December 2, in Calabar, explaining further that this would be achieved through the acknowledged sterling performance of the state governor, Ben Ayide.
Ayida was quoted as saying that the group was made up of people across the federation with great concern in canvassing for massive votes for Atiku in 2019.
He further explained that the group has mobilised all its members to polling units to ensure that Atiku’s votes are protected and counted.
According to the report, Agida said that the group would make a change in leadership at the national level through the ballot in a free and fair election.
He said: “Nigeria is facing serious challenges and we believe that we need capable hands that will move this country forward. As a political support group, we are going to give Atiku 90 percent of the votes from Cross River.
“This group is all over Nigeria. We have structures at the national, zonal, states, wards and units. We know that it is only through the ballot box that our principal can win.”
Agida disclosed that Atiku would prioritise the economy and security that are key to the development of other sectors for all Nigerians if elected president just as he described the presidential candidate as an employer of labour.
